The Panel Station is a paid survey site. Like most of the other survey sites, it offers you to take surveys and promise a reward in return. It is a simple, yet efficient system. Survey sites, also called online research panels collect consumers info. Then, they sell the research results to third parties. A portion of the profit is used to reward the participants in the program. The third parties are companies that use this data and analysis to improve existing products or to create a new product.
These days people spend a significant portion of their time on the Internet. And it is highly unlikely that this will change any time soon. Actually, we will probably spend even more time online in the near future. While it is useful in many ways, much of this time is wasted. This behavior opens the door for survey sites. They will offer you to take surveys on their site instead of random surveys that you come across. So, you take a survey but this time you receive a small reward for it.
Basic Info on The Panel Station
The Panel Station is an online research panel owned by Borderless Access Panels Pvt. Ltd. It is a reputable digital marketing product and solutions company based in India. This means that you can be pretty much sure that they are legit. Survey sites with respectable companies behind them are a real deal. Not necessarily a good one, but legit. The Panel Station is available in more than 20 countries worldwide.
At first glance, The Panel Station site looks neat and easy to navigate. It is not a fact of utmost importance, but making an effort to have professional design is usually a good sign. It shows that they care what kind of impression would they make. Also, it sends a message that they care about your experience overall. Of course, looks can be deceiving, but I like it for starters.
How The Panel Station Works
Signing-up to The Panel Station is pretty much the same as for most of the survey sites. You will need to provide basic personal info and that’s it. First, you will receive a couple of profile questionnaires to figure out your background and interests. After that, you will start receiving survey invitations via email.
Typically, you will get two surveys per week. You will win points for each completed survey. Point range is between 100 and 5,000. However, most of the surveys will be 12 to 15 minutes long, earning you 400 to 500 points. To make this understandable $1 equals about 600 points. So, a typical 12-minute survey will get you around $0.75. This is $3.75 per hour rate, and it is a good pay rate for the survey site. This number can vary a lot individually, depending on your demographics and surveys that you get.
I forgot an important thing. You can be disqualified at any point throughout the survey. Make sure that you don’t take the same survey twice. Also, don’t answer too quickly as you will be screened out for that. It can be frustrating to be disqualified near the end of the survey. However, you will know how long does it take to complete it in advance, so just pay attention. Still, you will receive 20 points for each survey that you get screened out.
Also, there is a mobile app available, so you can take your surveys on the go.
How to Claim Rewards
3,000 points is a redemption threshold. It is about $5 which is not a lot, so you won’t have to wait forever to claim your money. You can redeem your points for money via PayPal, or you can exchange them for Amazon gift cards or retail e-vouchers. It is possible that you won’t receive the voucher that you have asked for. Some companies may stop offering vouchers to the Panel Station and in that case, they will send you different one of equivalent value.
You can also choose to redeem your The Panel Station points for monthly sweepstakes entries.
The redemption process is somewhat long. For security reasons, at least that’s what they say, it takes 6 to 8 weeks to receive a reward. I don’t like this, but as long as you get your reward, it is not a deal-breaker.
Availability around the world – People from 20+ countries can become members
User-friendly interface – It is nice when you can navigate through the The Panel Station site easily. Great design of the site won’t bring you any money, but it will contribute to a nice overall experience.
Surveys – Surveys aren’t long and the pay rate is above average.
Mobile app – You can download The Panel Station mobile app on both Apple and Android devices. It is helpful to get survey notifications wherever you are and to take surveys on the go.
Consolation points – Receiving 20 points for being screened out is not much but it gives some kind of consolation.
Not enough surveys – two surveys per week won’t overwhelm you, that’s for sure.
Screening out – This is a serious downside. You have to be very careful as you can be disqualified for many reasons, even for speed.
Long wait for the payout – Waiting 6 to 8 weeks to get your hands on your reward can be annoying. But, you will get your reward in the end.
Customer service – Almost all of the bad reviews complain about customer service along the issue that bothered them in the first place on The Panel Station. While I really don’t appreciate bad customer service, it is pretty commonplace when it comes to survey sites. The Panel Station has more than 2.7 million users so when the glitch happens it is hard if not impossible to keep all the members happy. However, some sites manage to provide better customer support somehow.
The Station Panel is a legit survey site and it has many appealing features. So, you can be sure that it is not a scam. In my opinion, it lacks only two things to be a top-notch survey site.
Firstly, two surveys per week are just not enough. Of course, you can and should join multiple sites if you like online surveys, but it would be nice if they offered more opportunities. Secondly, the process of screening out on The Panel Station is not very transparent. It is a major reason for complaints and many users accuse them of deliberate last-minute disqualifications. While I don’t believe they do it on purpose it is a trust breaker.
A pretty large number of users has a great opinion of The Panel Station site, but the number of negative reviews is significant as well.
My final recommendation is to give The Panel Station a try. With two surveys per week, it won’t take much of your time. Hopefully, you will make it to the top 60% very satisfied users.
